Northeast Georgia Medical Center has an opening for a Medication Safety Officer. This position supports the entire enterprise, but is based at the Gainesville medical center campus, and reports to the Director of Pharmacy. While involvement in Pharmacy department safety initiatives is a key component of the role, this individual also serves on a variety of multidisciplinary teams focused on organizational safety initiatives, from nursing shared governance to Risk Management/Patient Safety teams. The MSO would also participate in root cause analyses, Lean projects, and other safety efforts.
Northeast Georgia Medical Center consists of 3 facilities, NGMC Gainesville, NGMC Braselton, and NGMC Barrow, approximately 700 beds total. NGMC Gainesville is a Level 2 Trauma center, and the facilities provide comprehensive inpatient services, including interventional cardiology/open heart, Labor-Delivery/NICU, and Oncology, to name a few.
Residency Required (Residency in Medication Safety preferred)
3-5 years in medication safety role acceptable in lieu of residency
